About Trust and Transit

Preparing Your Car for Vehicle Transport

First thing when shipping a vehicle is to make sure your car is operable and safe. Make sure steering and brakes are working properly because the vehicle transport company will have to drive your car on and off the car shipping carrier at some point during the delivery process.

Next, have your vehicle checked for any leaking fluids.  An car transport truck is two levels and your vehicle may be above another persons car. If your automobile leaks fluids such as coolant, battery fluid or oil on to another vehicle, you will be held responsible.

Auto accessories that may be come loose during vehicle transport should be removed if possible. If you intend on leaving them on make sure that they are securely fastened on your vehicle. Other non-permanent accessories such as ski, bike and luggage racks are required to be taken off before shipping a vehicle.

If your vehicle is going to a state were the climate is different be sure to make preparations before hand. For example, a car leaving Florida coming to New York in the winter should have engine coolant, transmission oil or other weather preparations taken care of before auto transportation.
