This image below shows the underside view of a vehicle that is loaded on the top level of an auto transport carrier. The vehicle is fastened to the ramp with a chain holding each of the 4 corners of the car. The car transport worker will make sure the vehicle is tightly secured before the ramps are adjusted. The ramps are adjusted and controlled by hydraulic lifters attatched to each of the ramps which enables the worker to adjust the levels of the ramps for loading, unloading and transport.
Also in the photo it looks like the vehicle is hanging off the top row of the carrier, you will notice there is a large gap between the top row tracks from the car behind and in front. These metal tracks of the vehicle transport carrier are adjusted and positioned closer to one another when vehicles are driven on or off the delivery truck. There are also small gates that fold out or sometimes pulled out to help connect top row of trailer to each other making it possible for the vehicle transport driver to load and unload automobiles on or off the carrier.
